Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan or if you are Japanese, or whether you read the manga and are focused more of that you’ll know it as Shingeki no Kyojin which translate literally to Advancing Giants, which doesn’t really sound as good as Attack on Titan. So apart from the name changes, this is a new anime series which has only got four episodes as writing this since the fifth will be coming out later on in the weekend.

This anime depicts the story of Eren Jeager who’s world we are thrown into is besieged by these Titans or Giants which have destroyed a vast majority of the human population, whose last refuge is a walled state. This state lives in constant fear of attack from the giant who they believe cannot enter in with the wall protecting however after the first episode this become false and the city then get attacking leading into the whole plot of show.

Out of the anime which have been released this spring in the typical fashion of anime season, this and another Suisei no Gargantia – Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, which I will be reviewing later in the their season or I might just wait until the end of the season. So back on with this anime, it does demonstrate quite a broad example of character design and character dealing with huge problems, for example within the first couple of episode  just a warning a spoiler is coming well only a bit of a spolier. Well his life is literally flip upside down with the death of his mother in front of his eye, which creates his passion which lead many characters to their deaths but also make him so determined on his task of killing all the titans.

Now onto the reviewing this will be an initial review since I have no clue what will transpire later on. I have read some of manga so I have only a tiny portion of what to come but I suspect after the next couple of episodes I will be with everyone who has not read it, although we typical anime I’m suspecting that it will be changed from the manga as per. Oh yeah the actual review erm 6.5 -10 it is good but I don’t want to put to high incase I get let down further in the series. So whats your opinion do you like or if you haven’t seen do you think you will watch it.

Series or episodes? Magi The Labyrinth of Magic

I have been wondering whether I should look at single episode in a series, or just do the complete series. Since both of these have it strength and weakness, for example with ‘Magi’ the last episode was a continuation of the clearing the labyrinth in which they have just been sucked into. During the episode the character development of a particular character has progressed to where the audience is now feeling sympathetic towards him, while before he a crowned prince of the war nation who tried to dominate one of the other character’s home land.

Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic

While if we looked at the series as a whole you can see a story progressing in a similar manner to conventional anime, with the end turning into a war between the main characters and the evil organisation who tries to go against the flow of fate in the world. With a series of misadventures where they would locate more and new allies to help fight against the enemy in the end, resulting in a battle, where maybe one or two of the characters might die. This being a fore sighting since the series is far from being finished hopefully, since currently they have only conquered on dungeon/labyrinth, and they will need to conquer or have them all conquered before the final fight.

So there is a short example of what each would be about, doing the episodes would allow more content to be made, since I could do a number of episodes and go over and rate the series as a whole at the end, yet this would certain a huge number of episode ones, the rating would then give an overall rating at the end. However by just doing the series would mean I get through a lot more animated series, yet would mean that instead of watching an episode I would have to watch the full series before hand.

So my question which should I do?
